Neurologist (Brain Specialist)

Dr Caroline Airey

Dr Airey graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2004 with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. She completed advanced training in neurology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and a fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, in 2012.

Since specialising, Dr Airey worked as a general neurologist and as staff specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and in private practice at several locations. While working at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, she established a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Clinic and a Botulinum toxin (Botox) Headache Clinic.

Dr Airey has extensive experience and a special interest in the management of chronic migraine. She is passionate about improving outcomes for patients with headache and migraine using a multidisciplinary approach, in addition to drug therapies such as Botulinum toxin and CGRP monoclonal antibodies.

She understands the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest advances in migraine and neurological treatment, and partners with the Mater and The University of Queensland in migraine and other neurology related research. This continually expands her knowledge and expertise and enables her to provide her patients with the most effective and cutting-edge treatments available. She has also embraced opportunities to invite her patients to participate in research trials.

Dr Airey believes that every patient is unique and deserves individualised, compassionate care. She understands that living with migraine can be challenging and takes the time to listen to her patients’ concerns and experiences. She believes that building a strong rapport with her patients is key to helping them manage their conditions and improve their quality of life.

In her spare time, Dr Airey enjoys spending time with her family.
